Overview

Location: Cambridge City, IN   Department: Dot Transportation, Inc (DTI)  Reports To: Director of Transportation

 

Your Role: This position is responsible for driver assignments, scheduling, and coordinating product movements to customers, vendors, and distribution centers through the efficient use and management of company equipment, fleet, and drivers, in addition to various duties as determined by the Director of Transportation. 

 

  • Adhere to all guaranteed inbound product movements, such as inbound vendor purchase orders for both Dot Foods and internal company transfers
  • Manage driver assignment for all loads, inbound and outbound
  • Assist in the coordination of product transfer to other distribution centers
  • Perform specific duties in measuring and reporting driver payroll, service levels, fleet performance, etc.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.

 

Role Specifics:

  • Travel – Occasional overnight travel to other company facilities or outside facilities for training. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
  • Schedule – Ability to work flexible hours (weekend, night shift and on-call) based upon facility needs.

Qualifications

We Need You To Have:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective planning, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills

We’d Like You To Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of D.O.T., Federal and State regulations for drivers and equipment
  • Working knowledge of federal Hours Of Service regulations
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment
