Overview

 

Job Title:  MD Packaging/ Shipping Clerk FT/ PT 

Department: Warehouse

Location: Williamsport MD

Schedule: TBD

Supervision:

· Reports to Warehouse Support Manager.

· Executes work under direct supervision 30% of the time works independently setting work schedule priorities 70% of the time.

· Does not supervise others.

 

Primary Purpose:

Process orders that are to be shipped via FedEx, UPS and other carriers as needed.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

· Package and re-packages cases and “eaches” to be shipped via small carrier.

· Send office mail and supplies out via FedEx.

· General housekeeping of work area.

· Print package labels and track daily production and shipment information.

· Maintain and track packaging supplies.

· Process returns

· Warehouse shift work as needed, meeting warehouse production standards

· Applies lean tools and thinking to identify and eliminate waste

· Follows and applies standard work and work instructions

 

 

Occasional Work Performed:

· Receive and process calls regarding the status of FedEx packages.

· Release orders, update customer information in computer.

 

Safety Responsibility:

This position assumes responsibility for the workplace safety of self and co-workers, and for the safety conditions of the work location, exercises and promotes safe behaviors and shows unyielding support of programs, rules and policies regarding safety.

 

Working Conditions:

· Indoor work, temperatures may vary from below 0 to above 100 degrees with humidity.

· Overtime may be required in order to fulfill responsibilities.

· Extensive standing, walking.

 

Requirements:

· High school diploma or general equivalency degree required.

· Prior warehouse experience is a plus

· Ability to learn to use FedEx &amp UPS computer systems, Microsoft Office programs, AS400 and warehouse systems.

· Ability to lift up to 35-45 pounds continually during shift.· Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

· Must meet minimum requirements on pre-employment testing, including physical ability tests.

· Ability to consistently meet minimum production standards and company service levels.

· Must have or obtain Electric Pallet Jack and Narrow Aisle license and forklift certifications during initial training phase.

· Sufficient vision and hearing necessary to operate powered equipment safely.

· Demonstrated ability to safely and productively operate material handling equipment.

· Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

 

Wage Range: $11:00-$16.00/hour depending on experience
