Location: University Park, IL Department: Dot Transportation, Inc (DTI) Reports To: Director of Transportation


Your Role: To provide service to internal and external customers and manage/ contain costs while effectively managing the driver and dispatching staff.

  • Contains costs through effective routing of customer orders and managing inbound freight by dispatching staff.
  • Utilizes team and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
  • Manages transfer processes between distribution centers by working closely with distribution center managers.
  • Addresses/ resolves customer issues.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.


Role Specifics:

  • Travel – Occasional overnight travel to other company facilities or outside facilities for training. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.

Schedule – Ability to work flexible hours (weekend, night shift and on-call) based upon facility needs


We Need You To Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable Dot experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft office programs

We’d Like You To Have:

  • Prior management experience of 3-5 years minimum
  • Prior transportation experience
  • Ability to function in a multi-task environment
