Job Title: Chicago (University Park), IL Trailer Spotter

Department:  Warehouse
Schedule: Part-Time - 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) 6:00 PM- 4:30 AM

 

Location: University Park, IL    Department: Warehouse      Reports To: Warehouse Specialist

 

Your Role: Safely and efficiently spot trailers on the lot or at the dock door per instructions from the operations clerk.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Moving trailers between pads, doors and buildings on a timely basis.
  • Sliding tandems to meet state bridge laws.
  • Chocking trailers safely.
  • Weighing loaded trailers accurately.
  • Inspecting spotter tractors, basic maintenance, fueling, reporting equipment problems.
  • Checking refrigerator unit operations.
  • Performing lot and door checks for trailer and purchase order accuracy.
  • Positive communication on work assignments via FM radio, CB radio and one-on-one contact with clerks, drivers and warehouse personnel.
  • Trailer washing

 

Occasional Work Performed:

  • Problem identification and solution.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Outside work in all weather conditions.
  • Extensive movement into and out of trailer cab (120 or more times per shift).

Qualifications

We Need You To Have:

  • High School diploma or general equivalency diploma required.
  • Must meet Department of Transportation physical and drug-screening requirements.
  • Must meet minimum requirements on pre-employment testing, including physical ability tests.
  • Safe driving record required.
  • Good physical condition and agility to access truck/ trailer/ work areas as required.
  • Sufficient vision and hearing necessary to operate powered equipment safely
