Location: Mt. Sterling, IL, St. Louis, MO, or Remote   Department: Dot Holding Co    Reports To: CEO


Your Role: Conducts, directs, coordinates, and administers the planning, research, and development function improving existing or creating new products, processes, services, ideologies, territorial expansion, and/or development of new ventures for our organization.

  • Prepares and administers research and development budget.
  • Research new ideas and potential opportunities for new products and services.
  • Identifies and conducts research on emerging trends inside and outside of our industry that has the potential to significantly impact our business.
  • Submits proposals to management and recommends allocation of funds to support them.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects. Prepares reports on progress to inform management of status. Recommends the addition, expansion, or discontinuance of projects.
  • Conducts testing and pilot runs for new or improved products or services.
  • May recruit, hire, and train department staff, evaluate staff performance, and develop goals and objectives for staff.
  • May negotiate contracts with consulting firms to perform research studies.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.

Role Specifics:

  • Travel: Limited travel, 1-2 nights per month for company meetings, conferences, etc. Must have the ability to travel independently by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.


We Need You to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years experience as an entrepreneur or working for a new start up
  • Experience with current and cutting-edge technology

We’d Like You to Have:

  • Master’s degree
  • Proven success in Product Innovation, Product Intelligence, Product Research, Project Scoping, Quantitative Research, Strategic Management, R&D, Research Documentation
