Location: Mt. Sterling, Illinois                            Reports To: Hagel 1891 Executive Chef


Your Role:

  • Hire, train, schedule, lead and manage all front-of-the-house and banquet personnel
  • Manage all aspects of Hagel’s Banquet and Catering Sales, including advertising, sales, offering, pricing, scheduling, and billing
  • Manage all aspects of beverage and bar offerings, including pricing, offering, ordering, and inventory
  • Establish and maintain presentation technique and quality standards
  • Oversee labor and beverage budgetary requirements
  • Ensure proper safety and sanitation in the food serving area
  • Supervise and coordinate all hosting activities
  • Work in collaboration with Executive Chef to increase sales and manage costs for all aspects of the restaurant

Role Specifics:

  • Full-time
  • Schedule includes evenings and weekend work, with some flexibility required to meet demands of role

Hagel 1891 is a one-of-a-kind restaurant, nestled in the heart of Uptown Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Hagel resides in a building that was originally constructed by the Hagel brothers in 1891. Recently restored and updated in 2014, the facility provides guests with a comfortable, yet unique banquet space to host meetings, parties, rehearsal dinners and receptions.


Hagel 1891 is owned by Dot Holdings Co. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior restaurant or people management experience
