Lead Cook – Full-Time

                                                        

Location: Mt. Sterling, Illinois                           Reports To: Hagel 1891 General Manager / Chef

Your Role:

  • Prepare food for Hagel 1891 customers according to the exact specification of the Executive Chef, establishment, and customer.
  • Work with other line cooks in the kitchen to prepare all food according to specifications, and in a timely fashion to meet customer needs
  • Ensure that all stations are cleaned at the end of a shift, including, but not limited to disposing of leftovers or garbage, cleaning utensils, pots, pans and cooking surfaces
  • Help develop standard work and work instructions for other cooks, as well as to streamline all processes within the kitchen

Role Specifics:

  • Supervises kitchen staff when executive chef is not on site
  • Schedule includes evenings, and weekends
  • Work conditions: Standing for long periods of time, and occasional lifting of product up to 50 pounds­
  • Hot and noisy environment, with areas of odors, moisture, steam, and refrigeration
  • An Illinois State Food Handler card will be required

Dishwasher/Kitchen Porter

 

Location: Mt. Sterling, Illinois                           Reports To: Hagel 1891 General Manager / Chef

 

Your Role: Dishwasher/Kitchen Porter is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all china flatware, glasses, utensils, and cookware and general restaurant premises.

 

  • Station set up: Set up operation and maintenance of the dish washer. Maintain proper levels of cleaning agents and sanitizers in the machine and in the hand washing area.
  • Cleaning: Ensure that all china, flatware, glassware, utensils, and cookware are clean, sanitized properly and stored in the correct locations. Cleaning areas as indicated by the Chef or Manager. This may include public areas of the restaurant, restrooms, banquet areas, trash receptacles, and outside areas.
  • Stocking: Assist in the intake, rotation, labeling and proper storage of food stuffs, equipment, and supplies as directed by the Chef.
  • General: Assist in the kitchen in any capacity needed as dictated by work load staffing and as directed by the Chef.

Location: Mt. Sterling, Illinois                           Reports To: Hagel 1891 General Manager / Chef

 

Your Role:

  • Prepare food for Hagel 1891 customers according to the exact specification of the Executive Chef, establishment, and customer.
  • Prepare any food and work stations to be ready for the next meal to be made
  • Work with other line cooks in the kitchen to prepare all food according to specifications, and in a timely fashion to meet customer needs
  • Ensure that all stations are cleaned at the end of a shift, including, but not limited to disposing of leftovers or garbage, cleaning utensils, pots, pans and cooking surfaces
  • Help develop standard work and work instructions for other cooks, as well as to streamline all processes within the kitchen
  • Learning and working for a professional culinary schooled chef

Role Specifics:

  • Schedule: Part-time; Tues - Thurs 2pm - 9:30pm, Friday and Saturday 2pm - 10:30pm, two days off Sunday and Monday. 
  • Schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Work conditions: Standing for long periods of time, and occasional lifting of product up to 50 pounds­
  • Hot and noisy environment, with areas of odors, moisture, steam, and refrigeration
  • An Illinois State Food Handler card will be required upon offer.
