Your Role: Performing safe and efficient preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and modifications on company truck and trailer equipment.

 

  • Maintains proficiency in the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of all company equipment.
  • Tests, repairs, and/or replaces electrical and lighting systems.
  • Repairs and overhauls brake systems.
  • Repairs and inspects HVAC systems on tractors.
  • Assists in compiling and maintaining all documents necessary to comply with the requirements of local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Applies lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.

 

Role Specifics:

  • Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday 3:30pm-2:00am
  • Extensive standing and/or walking on concrete.
  • Temperature extremes (summer and winter conditions) working in both indoor and occasionally outdoor weather conditions as required to maintain trucks and associated equipment.
  • Will need to obtain brake inspection certification and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 6 months of hire

Supervision:
Reports to Garage Manager
Executes work under direction or established procedures 90% of the time.
Works independently setting priorities and work schedule 10% of the time.
Supervises: Does not supervise others

 

Primary Purpose:
Wash company equipment by hand or by automated washing equipment.
Assist in the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of trucks and trailers.

 

Essential Duties:
• Maintain wash bay in safe clean manner.
• Conduct Safety Audit as needed.
• Operate Floor scrubbers and clean garage work area
• Maintain shop in a clean and orderly manner.
• Sanitation duties to include cleaning of bathrooms, trash pickup and other as needed.
• Update permits required for all tractors
• Perform assigned general maintenance tasks on company tractors and trailers.
• Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on company equipment, primarily tractors.
• Tests, repairs, and/or replaces electrical and lighting systems on tractors and trailers.
• Interacts with customers, vendors, and other employees regarding tractor repairs and other shop activities.
• Completes required paperwork including tractor write-ups, work orders.

 

Occasional Work Performed:

Conduct Safety Checks
Operate Floor scrubbers and clean garage work area
Maintain shop in a clean and orderly manner.
Conduct truck yard check. 

 

Safety Responsibility:
Assumes responsibility for workplace safety of self and co-workers, and for the safety conditions of the work location.

 

Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in an outdoor environment that would include snow, wet and cold conditions.

  • Performs assigned general maintenance tasks on company vehicles.

Your Role: The Garage Technician is responsible for assisting in repair, maintenance of fleet tire program, and other company assets.

  • Operate tire machine for mounting and dismounting tires.
  • Install and remove mounted tires on company trucks and trailers.
  • Move trucks back and forth from main building.
  • Lot inspections
  • Repair of insulated bulkheads for refrigerated trailers
  • Help maintain tire inventory in tire, and trailer shop
  • Complete required maintenance paperwork including vehicle write ups, and work orders.

 

Role Specifics:

  • Schedule: Tue-Fri 2:30PM – 11:00PM, Sat 9AM – 5:30PM
  • Ability to work flexible overtime hours to meet the responsibilities of the job.
  • Extensive standing and/or walking on concrete & asphalt in outdoor environment.
  • Ability to work in all temperatures working both indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasional call outs for tire related emergency road breakdowns.
